It was very hard to say good-bye to Ben and Emily and Jack and Molly this morning. We had such a fun week with them here at SSK and are very happy they were able to come again this year.
Barb had invited us to help Bryan celebrate his 70th birthday on Wednesday night. She made a great dinner and we loved the picture collage she made of Bryan through the years.
On Thursday, our group spent the day at Sombrero Beach in Marathon playing bean bags and sharing lunch and snacks.
On Friday we went down to Key West with Matt and Alice to ride our bikes. We met up with Bob and Gloria for lunch at Blue Heaven. And later we had drinks with Mel and Janice and Chris and Toby, who were also riding their bikes around the city.
A Wild West Dinner Dance was held Saturday night and everyone had fun—whether they dressed as cowboys or not.
Gloria brought the evening to a close doing a dueling banjo contest with the DJ on her “John Mc-Cane”.
Sunday morning was our annual waffle breakfast. First time in a few years that the weather was so warm and sunny for the event. We also surprised Alice with a birthday cupcake.
We stopped eating long enough to move over to our weekly bean bag sites. The weather is so much nicer than last year and none of us dare say that “it’s too hot!!”
