We’d like to thank Jags and Ritchies for bringing the warm weather back to us in the Keys. Temperatures are finally in the 70’s during the day and now if we could get the wind to lay down, it would be perfect. Lots of time has been spent in the sun. Susie taught a group of us to crochet water bottle holders out of plastic grocery bags. Hank and I fished the Rock Pile and he caught a big sheepshead. We also took a blue crab out of our pin fish trap and put him back in the water.
We took our bikes down to Key West and rode around town with Matt and Alice on Wednesday. Of course, we had lunch at Blue Heaven first. We spent some time on the Wharf and Mallory Square waiting for the sun to go down. Lots of spring breakers were in town today.
Our group had ribs at the cafe Friday night—just before the rain!
Bob and Linda and their boxer, Abby, finally pulled in this week and they hosted a corned beef and cabbage dinner for all of us on Saturday with Matt and Alice. We played bean bags and enjoyed the delicious smells as they cooked them outside in a huge roaster.
Dave and Larry stopped by before Bean Bags on Sunday. We had 32 people play and it was the best day, weather-wise, we have had for the tournament all year. Lots of fun. We even had some cheerleaders today. And Brenda finally won her t-shirt. (A smaller size will be delivered this week.)
Afterwards, Ross and Sue and Bernie and Ruthanne did a shrimp boil for all of us. What a fun dinner. Can you tell we are eating a lot as we near the end of our visit?
Rich and Joanne were hosting a dinner party as well. We all agreed it was great to have it be warm enough to have dinner outside AND to have it staying lighter longer—Daylight savings kicked in during the night.
