Hank took Ross out fishing on Monday and they caught lots of fish. Sue and I stayed home and made crockpot dinners which we shared with Bernie and Ruthanne that night.
We were awakened early Tuesday morning to discover that Margie and Mike’s son, Jeremy, had been involved in a terrible accident. We helped Mike pack up the motorhome for the long journey home and Bob and Gloria took Margie to Key West for her flight home. We are keeping this special family in our thoughts and prayers.
Our Wednesday Computer Class was held outside at Chris’s so we could all ride on her internet connection. We had to use towels to shield our screens from the bright sunlight.
The park sponsored the annual Roll Out the Rates Dinner to announce next year’s costs and give out some prices. Marlene, the manager, also outlined some of the improvements that will take place over the summer.
That night Hank and I attended Jersey Bob’s fishing seminar. He is our resident fishing guide and Hank and I have gotten lots out of his classes. Just to illustrate how bad the weather has been this winter, he told us that he had 19 charter cancellations in January and over 50% in February. We worked on tying knots tonight.
Another very sad day on Thursday as Matt and Alice had to make the difficult decision to have their dog, Cosmo, put down. We will all miss him and know how hard this was for them.
Friday we played some Mexican Train outside and shared some snacks. Al and Debbie came by after the Pool Party and shared some of their price winning jello shots with us.
Art and Kris took their boat out this week and cleaned it up. Here are the before and after pictures.
Dewey’s brother, Frank, is visiting and treated us all to a halibut dinner on Saturday. Pat made her delicious hush puppies, too.
Sunday morning a huge group went up to the Key Colony Inn for the delicious brunch. Pat came out to find a flat tire and got lots of help changing it. We stopped by Dave and Sandi’s condo nearby and were visiting with them when Dave and Deanna arrived from Michigan.
Got back to the campground in time for Bean Bags. We had 30 people take part in the tournament today.
Sunday night we were invited to John and Janet’s annual party in honor of their niece, Jenny, who was struck by lightening when she was 16. Her family visits SSK every year and we especially love seeing Jenny in the pool with her Uncle John.
There are so many kind and caring people here and we will continue to keep Connie and Fitz, Obie and Donna and Margie and Mike in our prayers.
