HOLIDAY PARK, TRAVERSE CITY MI. JULY 15-18, 2010

 

Hank got the okay to travel from Dr. Courtney today—he had some minor hernia surgery in June--and an hour later we were on the road heading north.  Holiday Park is an old Airstream park, located on Silver Lake, and one of our favorite destinations.  We settled in and waited for Ben, Emily, Jack and Molly to arrive.  It didn’t take long, once they came, for us all to be down at the beach and in the lake having fun.

The next morning, Grandma and Grandpa surprised the kids with more Silly Bands for their collections.   Then they went off to do some serious fishing!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We took a break, midday, and went to Moomers for ice cream!!!  Then back home and this time Grandpa went fishing with Ben and the kids.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jack loved the giant dinosaur book I borrowed from the library.  It was a fun week-end for all of us!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

COURTNEY’S BRIDAL SHOWER, JULY 10, 2010

 

It is a special time in our lives as we witness children we have watched grow up get engaged and married.  Today was one of those memorable occasions.  Dave and Deanna’s son, Mark, is marrying Courtney in October and today was her bridal shower.  Deanna’s sisters gave the shower and it was such fun.  Betty is a gourmet cook and we had a lunch to die for!!!

 

 

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mark arrived in time to help Courtney open gifts and they told us lots of fun stories about their dating and engagement.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Best of all, especially for Deanna, is that all of her young people were together for this special day—Mark and Courtney from Virginia, Robyn from Charlotte, NC, and Kris was home from her teaching assignment in South Korea!  It was a lovely day and we wish Mark and Courtney the very best.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

HARSEN’S ISLAND, JULY 9, 2010

 

We spent a delightful day with Art and Jane at their place on the island.  They showed us all the work they’ve done on their cottage and are hoping it will sell soon.  The house next to them, on the corner facing Algonac across the river, is also undergoing some major renovations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We also got to see the kit boat that Art has been working on and that he entered in a show this last month.  He does amazing work.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We had a delightful dinner at the old School House.  It was the perfect day.  Thanks, Art and Jane.
