We left Florida behind and spent Saturday and Sunday night at Blythe Island in southern Georgia. This lovely park, right on the Brunswick River, is one of our favorite places. Lots of stately tall trees and we always enjoy watching people crabbing and fishing from the pier.
We’re keeping an eye on the weather up north and taking our time heading back to Michigan. Monday we moved on to Fort McAllister State Historic Park, near Savannah, and parked in a roomy site overlooking a salt marsh. This park contains a Confederate earthwork fort and was the site of the end of General Sherman’s March to the Sea. We took a walking tour of the museum and fort.
We did some bike riding and lots of hiking around the park and, of course, took lots of photos of this pretty place.
