Hank and I flew to California to spend the Christmas holidays with Kathleen, Tony, Garrett and Madison. We arrived in the midst of the torrential rains southern California was experiencing. Roads were flooding and washing out and Tony and Kath had to help neighbors sandbag and put tarps up. Luckily, we stayed dry and had lots of fun setting up trains and baking cookies.
Neighbors, Jill and Jan, came over to share Christmas gifts.
We celebrated Christmas at home on Christmas Eve day as Tony was scheduled to work at the firehouse on Christmas Day.
We visited neighbors, Karen and Kevin, and shared some holiday fun with them.
That night we frosted the cookies for Santa and got ready for his arrival the next morning. Santa Claus was very generous so that must mean that Garrett and Madison have been very, very good!
The firemen prepared a holiday feast for all their families and we had a great Christmas day at the firehouse. We all rode in the fire trucks, had a delicious dinner, said hello to a special visitor and got to ride down the 3-story slide!
We shared dinner and playing Pictionary on Wii with Kath and Tony’s friends and their families.
We had a wonderful Christmas and, as always, it was especially hard to say good-bye. Thanks, Tony and Kath and Garrett and Maddie, for making our visit so special.
