SSK, WEEK 5, DEC. 28, 2009-JAN. 3, 2010

Happy New Year to each of you.  We wish each of you the very best as we begin 2010.  This week saw the arrival of most of “our gang” and what fun it’s been to hug the newcomers and watch them settle in.  Bob and Gloria arrived in their new trailer on Monday and we shared dinner with them and Chili in our coach.  Gloria and I then made dinner for Matt and Alice, Donna, Penny and Bob and Margie and Mike.  Chris and Toby and Joann and Richard welcomed Janice and Mel that same evening with dinner in their screen room.  I served Sip and Go Nakeds to the whole gang!

Some of the gang dressed up and attended the New Year’s Eve bash in the clubhouse.  The rest of us, including newly arrived Kris and Art, gathered at Matt and Alice’s for appetizers and drinks.  Hank and I didn’t make it beyond 10:00 p.m., as we had spent the day on the boat fishing and were really tired.  Nice way to spend the last day of 2009.

Pat and Dewey and Reney and Blaine came in and we gathered at the clubhouse for Saturday ice cream.  Charlie and Patty are also here with their two grandsons visiting them.  Pretty much everyone stayed to play Hi-Lo, but Hank and I came home to watch MSU play Texas Tech in the Alamo Bowl.  Though our team didn’t win, we were proud of the way they played since they were missing 7 of their starting players.

The temperatures went steadily down all week and you can see that we were all bundled up for our first Bath House Bean Bag Tournament on Sunday.  Twenty-two hardy souls gathered to share in the fun.  We all thank Mel and Janice for organizing this weekly happening.  And Joanne has graciously allowed me to help her with the brackets and board placements.
