Our friends, Matt and Alice, had seen the park the day before and warned Hank that he would not like the switchbacks that took us up the mountain and into the park. They were right! He white-knuckled his way up to the top.
Arches National Park is home to more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches, as well as many other unusual rock formations. In 1971, President Nixon designated Arches as a national park and in 1998, the park’s area was expanded. Feast your eyes on what was saved for us.
This group is called Three Gossips.
This one is Sheep Rock.
And this one is called The Organ.
The Balanced Rock has to be seen to be believed.
Hank and I thought this sign was kind of scary. Can you imagine trying to outrun one of these huge rocks?
Just a few more photos of some of the spectacular beauty the park has to offer.
Hank and I had a great day in this very special place.
