Monday brought a huge manatee to our marina and Al and Debbie finally arrived after a stressful departure—their tow vehicle was hit from behind. We also said good-bye to Nick and Susan who visited Matt and Alice for a few days.
On Tuesday we gathered to celebrate Dewey’s birthday party with cake and ice cream—and lots of hugs and kisses for Dewey!
Many of us gathered at Key Colony Inn for dinner on Thursday night and several of us went on to attend A Bad Year for Tomatoes at the Marathon Playhouse.
Some silliness on Friday where we decorated Bob and Penny’s coach to tease them about how little we have seen them outside of their motorhome this season.
Hank and I went over and took some photos of the old Bahia Honda Bridge from the embankment at the lower end. It’s hard to imagine what it must have been like when the train traveled through it and then the cars on the top once the hurricane put an end to the train travel.
Hank went fishing with Rich and Don on Saturday morning and had a great time.
We gathered at the clubhouse for the Hillbilly Potluck and what fun to see all the great costumes people created. Mary was especially funny and especially enjoyed her new body. The Doerfels performed after the dinner and we gave this talented family a standing ovation at the end of the evening. Much fun was had by all.
Ross and Sue arrived a few days early as we were playing Bean Bags on Sunday. Janice was thrilled to finally beat Mel and get a t-shirt!
Woody and Connie and Steve and Cathy invited us to join them at the clubhouse for sloppy Joes and a dance. They and two other couples worked very hard to provide a fun evening for all of us. Janice made certain that everyone knew she had won Bean Bags earlier in the day.
