The annual parade and party at Dave and Deanna’s actually took place on Monday, July 5, this year as Clawson can’t close down 14 Mile Road because of the churches on Sunday. Very hot day and we were disappointed there were no bands, no jet fly-overs and way too many politicians in the parade. But the kids had fun and collected lots of candy. You can see that many of the kids had made shirts with bald eagles—not turkeys—on them in honor of the event. And there was a car in the parade that was exactly like the first car I ever owned—check it out!
We gathered in Dave and Deanna’s lovely back-yard and there were more people in the pool this year than I remember seeing in a very long time.
It’s very special to have so many families and good friends gathered together for this annual event. The tree house continues to be popular with the kids and washers were played by both young and old.
The piñata was Mickey Mouse this year and all the kids got a whack at it before he split open and showered the kids with bags of candy.
Thank you to our great hosts, Dave and Deanna, for another wonderful 4th of July party.
